Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri was born on the 19th April 1970, in San Juan, Puerto Rico of Mexican parents. This singer is known under the name of Luis Miguel, and is often addressed as El Sol de Mexico. The winner of four Latin Grammy Awards and five Grammy Awards, Luis has sold more than 107 million records all over the world. He received a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1996. The other studio albums, which were popular not only in Argentina, but also were certified in USA, were “Romance” (1991), “Segundo Romance” (1994), “Nada Es Igual” (1996), “Romances” (1997), “Amarte Es Un Placer” (1999), “Mis Romances” (2001), “33” (2003), “México En La Piel” (2004), “Navidades” (2006) and “Cómplices” (2008) almost all of them produced by Luis Miguel himself.
Up to date, Miguel has released 64 singles, 43 music videos, 22 studio albums, eight compilation albums, nine video albums, two live albums, two soundtracks and an EPs. During Miguel’s long spanned career, his recordings have been certified diamond seven times, platinum 327 times and gold 40 times.
