Talk about an inside the park home run.
A Miami Marlins affiliate owned by two-time masters champ Bubba Watson has put the team’s Pensacola, FL ballpark on Airbnb for a little over $5K a night. This triple play stay offers up to ten guests field access and clubhouse connected sleeping arrangements in what the team called the “first time ever” a ballpark has done so.
“Want to hit with your friends in our batting cage? Be our guest! Want to play catch on the field at 11:30 PM? Be our guest! Want to take batting practice while having a couple cold ones with the boys? Be our guest!” the Blue Wahoos offer of the 5,038 capacity stadium that’s 335 feet to rightfield.
The AA level squad near the Alabama border also boasts a chance to play video games and ping pong inside its newly renovated, traditionally player and staff only clubhouse. It’s delightfully furnished with two leather couches, padded chairs, and a pair of flat screen TVs.
An “on call” staff member will also be made available “to provide security and answer questions” as well.
Blue Wahoos employees will also provide bats, balls, and helmets at the team’s batting cage and leave the Pensacola Bay-front field set up with screens and coverings for guests to take BP as well.
The sleeping arrangements offer two queen sized beds along with four bunk beds in a room that leads into the team’s clubhouse. Parties of ten may add to their roster for a $300 fee plus tax per head.
“Guests are welcome to hit from home plate, play catch in the outfield, run the bases, enjoy a picnic in the outfield, or find other creative uses for the field!”
The team also offers food and drink package deals as an add on which cost as much as $47.
Florida born Watson joined ownership of the team back in 2015 and called the park “such a great place to go with friends and family” at the time.
Pensacola native, NFL hall of fame linebacker and Super Bowl champ Derrick Brooks — who spent his entire career playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — became Blue Wahoos owner in 2018 as well.
The stadium, which can be converted for football and concerts too, was first listed as an Airbnb in summer of 2020 and had enjoyed positive reviews from fans since.
Make sure you’re decent after hitting the showers though as “the Blue Wahoos reserve the right to host additional events during the duration of your stay.”
